The Third Rule of QR Codes

I have posted on the first and second rule previously which in essence are, mobilize the landing page and keep the url short.

The third rule of QR Codes is, if the QR Code you have made resolves to a url, the online content must add tangible and significant value to any offline content. If your QR Code leads to a chance to win prizes, discount vouchers or really exclusive and interesting content then it will have been worth decoding. Bland or uninteresting content does not work on a conventional website and this is even more true for a mobile site.

In a future post I will give good and bad examples of each of the three rules of QR Codes.
