Advertising Agency Grey Group, Hong Kong recently created a QR Code cookie campaign for e-book store Four Directions. Edible QR Code cookies were distributed to popular cafes and given away free to customers. When scanned smartphone owners had the opportunity to download a free trial e-book. Called the ‘Eat What You Read’ campaign the agency claims that 8,000 QR Code cookies were distributed in one week increasing visits to the client’s website by 45% and their sales by 12%. Apparently the total cost of the campaign was in the region of $5,000.
