A guerrilla promotion for the new Samsung NX 200 camera in Seoul, South Korea made an interesting use of QR Codes. In a fashionable part of town an army of photographers descended on innocent shoppers and acted as if they had discovered a celebrity on the loose. Slapping a QR Code sticker on the victim they dispersed as quickly as they arrived (video below). When the shopper scanned the QR Code it resolved to a mobile site with their photo superimposed on a magazine cover. The photos were also uploaded to a Facebook page where people were asked to vote for their favorite and the winner received a free NX 200.
