Speaking recently on the way consumers shop and pay, John Donahoe CEO of eBay (who own PayPal) called 2012 “…a test and learn year for all of us at PayPal around the world”. Readers of 2d-code will know this already having read posts on, for example, PayPal QR Code virtual stores in the Singapore subway and PayPal ‘beat the queue’ book shops at Australian universities. John Donahoe was speaking at the opening of a collaborative project (called QRoute) with 30 exclusive boutiques in Amsterdam enabling consumers to shop 24 hours a day from their smartphones (video below). Purchases are automatically delivered to the account holders home address in a gift box within 2 working days. The project is planned to continue until the end of the year.
