QR Decoder

Jaxo Systems based in Montpellier, France is a developer of software for cell phones and PDA’s.

They have recently developed a barcode package which handles both linear and 2D barcodes including PDF417, Datamatrix, QR and Aztec. There is a demo on their website and you can generate any of these codes by simply selecting the appropriate options and entering your text.

Also on their website they have a QR decoder software download QR decoder which you can run on your PC. I have used it on a number of QR codes that I found on the web and I have yet to find one that it can’t decode. If you are running Microsoft Windows you will need to make sure that you have Java software on your machine. You can download Sun Microsystems free version here.

Also if you are running XP after you have downloaded the QR decoder you will need to click ‘Start’ and then ‘Run…’ before typing in ‘cmd’ to run the command interpreter. Once in the command interpreter just navigate to the directory where you placed the QR decoder download and follow the instructions given on the Jaxo website.

  1. Jaxo systems is currently moving from www.jaxo.com to www.jaxo-systems.com you can already find the new barcode generator on it, even if the new website is still underconstruction….
