QR Code World Record Attempt

Hackerspace Charlotte is painting what they hope will be a world record QR Code on the roof of scrap metal recycler Southern Resources building located in the NoDa district of Charlotte, NC (video below). They hope to finish and have their world record certified by Guinness World Records in a couple of days. Guinness show the current world record at 16.81 square meters achieved in Bolzano, Italy in April 2011. However there have been much larger codes including one by Audi Japan at 159 square meters and the QR Codes displayed on the HDTV screen at the Cowboys’ Stadium in 2009 were probably even larger.

  1. Excellent! Some of the news reports don’t point out that it is intended to be a permanent QR
