Facebook’s Roof QR Code Explained

Three days after we broke the story of the QR Code on the roof at Facebook HQ a post by Mark Pike on Facebook Engineering’s Notes provides the entertaining details. The image below taken from a camera strapped to an employee’s remote control quadcopter shows the QR Code in detail. The code resolves to a holding page (image below) but is not scannable by some apps because of the limited white surround. Unfortunately the QR Code has been positioned on the roof in the corner too close to the SW and SE walls which will make it difficult to scan at certain times of the day and from certain angles.
