The largest in-mall digital network in the US is to install QR Codes and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology into 140 malls in their network. Adspace Digital Mall Network will be using Blue Bite’s mTAG platform on their Smart Screens to feature client advertising that encourages consumers to either tap or scan the QR Code on the mTAG placard on the side panel of the unit. The screens will be available to advertisers starting April 15th, 2013. It would be interesting if they were to regularly monitor the ratio of QR Code scans to NFC taps over the next few years and make the information public.
