A previous post showed the QR coded contemporary art billboard outside the Ryouhouji Temple in Hachioji, Tokyo. In their continued attempt to reach the younger generation the enterprising Ryouhouji Monks are now selling a “Mobile Sutra” card for 500 Yen (just over $5). The QR Code on the back allows access to hear Sutras (Buddhist scriptures) from the temple. The Monks have utilized a system where only the mobile device that first accesses the Sutras can continue to do so.
