President’s Head Replaced With A QR Code

The U.S. election results came well after printing deadlines for the European morning newspapers but some of them found ingenious solutions to the problem. One paper produced two separate front pages with profiles of the winner, one page headed “It’s Obama” and the other “It’s Romney.” Another headlined the front page with “Obama” followed by “Has Lost – read page 2” and “Has Won – read page 3”. Belgium’s DH Les Sport was the only one to use technology with a QR Code covering the face of the president (image left). As soon as the result was known the QR Code resolved to the appropriate page on the newspaper’s website.
