This is such a simple use for QR Codes that I am surprised it hasn’t been seen before. MaxBack buys and then remarkets or recycles used mobiles, iPods and tablets. Users wanting a cash quote for their mobile have up until now had to identify it from lists and dropdown menus on the MaxBack website. Now by scanning a QR Code on a display in one of 3,000 USPS Post Offices (image below) a user’s phone and its specification can be identified automatically by examining the user agent string. An instant estimate of the the device’s value can be returned to the user and the buyback procedure can commence immediately.
