Marks & Spencer is targeting Mothers’ Day shoppers at Westfield shopping centre with a QR Code made from fresh flowers. The sixteen by thirteen feet display is made from ten thousand fresh flowers including Cymbidium Orchids and Pink Avalanche Roses (image below). The QR Code resolves to a mobile site where shoppers can win a year’s supply of flowers and purchase a Mothers’ Day bouquet direct from their mobile. The QR Code (video below) will be at the shopping centre between 4th and 10th March and at the conclusion of the event the flowers will be used to create compost in line with the company’s objective to become the world’s most sustainable major retailer by 2015.
